About our Olton Nursery
Bright Swans Day Nursery registered in 2017. The nursery opens Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm, term time only. The nursery receives funding for the provision of free early education for children from the age of 9 months-4 years. For the safety and security of all children, staff and visitors, please be advised that CCTV is in operation throughout our nursery, including all rooms and outdoor areas.
In our home from home room we allow children to explore and develop happily at their own rate. Encouraging meeting milestones whilst focussing on building those emotional bonds, understanding our feelings and thriving being unapologetically ourselves. Babies will build strong connections with their key worker to ensure they are confident and happy here at Bright Swans Olton.
Here at Olton our baby room ages are 3 months to 2 years. We like to have a home from home experience for our babies to ensure a smooth transitional process as they settle in. The ratio in this room is 1:3. We really like to hone in and match their routines at home ensuring every day is child led and individual. We encourage curiosity and promote play partnering to give children the absolute best start in life.
Here in our open ended Toddler room we welcome children from 2 to 3. We promote natural curiosity and allow children to explore and learn in their own individual way. Children are provided new experiences alongside those key interests that their key person will highlight. Enabling the children to thrive and develop in a safe and happy environment. We use a key person policy to enable children to build healthy attachments and bonds to support their confidence in the setting. We follow a 1:5 ratio in our toddler room.
Here in our preschool room we really hone in on building that self confidence in preparation for their transition to primary school. We encourage natural curiosity allowing the children to really question the world around them to build a sound knowledge of the world. Children are welcomed in a group time upon arrival, polishing listening skills and building respect for their peers. Our children leave Bright swans happy, healthy and confident little humans ready to take on their next big adventure!
We follow a 1:8 ratio in preschool as per government guidelines.

Children are happy and show confidence as they explore and play. The manager
has introduced a rich and balanced curriculum that covers all seven areas of
learning. Staff implement all areas of learning through offering a range of planned
activities and interacting with children during their chosen play. Staff have high
expectations for every child. They have created an environment that sparks
children’s curiosity and enjoyment.
Children engage well in activities and show a positive attitude to learning. They are
confident and eager to share what they know with staff and other children. For
example, children chat to staff and their friends about the process of making salt
dough and the ingredients they need. They show great muscle control as they mix
the dough and create different shapes using a range of tools and cutters.

I am very pleased with this nursery and how much progress my son has made. His speech has improved and so has his social skills. I visited this nursery recently, met by a very professional manager who took me around and explained all the facilities available. I was given their recent report which is impressive and outlined all the work the nursery and staff do. Clean tidy nursery with a large garden, have signed up my child toattend full time.
Friendly staff make you feel welcome, the nursery is nice and spacious with good facilities and bright and colourful. Very happy environment day to day :) A good variety of cultural foods and well balanced menu with milk and water throughout the day, children always seem happy and have a lot of activities provided throughout the day. Good nursery for the start of children's education and exploration.
A great nursery and the staff were excellent in making my 2 boys feel welcome. especially helping my youngest settle in which in turn has helped with his confidence!! A fantastic learning environment for young minds!!
Best place for your child or baby. Outstanding day care for every child with the best support and care. Our baby went from the age of 9 months old and makes a lot of progress and always looks happy when she comes back from day care. Excellent in every way!
